Fall on the South Carolina coast has its own rhythm: a little cooler, a little quieter, and full of local traditions. Here are a few ideas for this week around Murrells Inlet and the Grand Strand.
22nd Annual Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast - November 7
This is an Inlet tradition! The Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast is Saturday, November 7, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Wicked Tuna parking lot, 4123 Highway 17 Business. Expect oysters, live music, craft vendors and additional food for purchase. Oyster tickets are listed at $40 before online fees; advance tickets are recommended, and the event benefits local conservation and community efforts.
A relaxed Sunday on the coast
After a busy Saturday, Sunday is perfect for a quieter local outing: coffee, a walk by the water or a meal along the MarshWalk. This is the season when the Inlet's slower pace really shines.
Planning ahead: holiday lights on the MarshWalk
The Wonderland of Lights on the MarshWalk is scheduled to begin November 27. If family is visiting for Thanksgiving, add it to your calendar now.
